Can Cure Cylindrical Eye Sight In Children By Giving Fruits And Vegetables?

Hello Dr John I had a query with regards to my daughter who is 2.9 yrs old is suspected with cylindrical eye sight of -3.5 in one eye and -4 in the other

so is it curable by giving any vegetables or fruits for example .... as it is a very young age

Cylindrical deffect in eye can not be cured by diet or drug.The only recommendation is specs.Power is to be reviewed every one or two years. Incase of changes in vision specs is to be changed.When she will grow up in age, contact lens can be tried. For this she is to be trained to hadle it.When she will be 25 or more refractive surgery can be considered.

Hello
It seems from the history that your daughter is having refractive error of -3.5 and -4 dioptres.
By giving diet containing vitamin A rich foods the further progression can be reduced but this will not cure the refractive error.
The refractive error usually progresses rapidly in this age group hence she needs to wear spectacles regularly and attend followup with ophthalmologist regularly.
