Can Cyst/ Fibroids Cause Pain In Ovary ?

I have had pain in my left ovary area for months. My GYN did an ultrasound and said that I had small cysts and a small fibroid but said that it shouldn t cause pain. He sent me to a Gasto Dr. I had a colonoscopy which was normal. I still have the pain which seems worse after exersizing and the pain ebbs sometimes . I don t know what this is. I am past menopause. Can these small cysts and fibroid cause pain?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and I would like to offer some suggestions. Small cysts and fibroid do not cause such pain unless there is a strangulation or torsion. The fact that the pain has varying intensity makes me think that you should also exclude any musculoskeletal causes. A muscle spasm or any disc problem considering your age also can present in this way. Please see a specialist for further evaluation and plan proper management. Hope this helps.
