Can Cyst In Right Ovary Cause Irregular And Light Periods?
I was told that I have a cist on my right ovary. I was given a urine pregnancy test by my doctor and I was given one at the hospital. Not one of them gave me a blood test. the ultra sound at the hospital said that my uterus was 14.37 larger than it normal size. I ask my doctor what causes it to be that way and he told me he did not know. My period is not heavy. I did not have a period in January, and February my period stayed on for two days, and the same in March. My breast have began to itch like crazy this past month. I do not see my doctor again until September.
As per my clinical experience, ovarian cysts are very common causes of irregular as well as light amount of bleeding containing periods. There are various types of ovarian cysts such as benign versus malignant ones , originating from epithelium or stromal cells. The follicular cysts are most common among all, and requires medicine continuation for a period of 3-6 months for its resolution, if under size of 4 cm. Large, symptomatic cysts may require laparoscopic drilling, cystectomy or oophorectomy depending upon the clinical condition.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
