Can Cysts In The Ovaries Affect Conception?

Hi, I am 30 years old and my is 26yrs. We have been trying for baby for last 3-4 months without much success. She does have problems with her routine period. It s usually doesn t follow any the cycle of 28days. We met our family physician what he suggested to undergo few blood, thyroid, USG for complete lower abdomen. The reports state that she is having cyst in both her ovaries (PCOS). I know this is quite a normal with female but can it really affect from conceiving. The medicines given by the doctor are OO Sure, Sincopin and Ovrual L. The doctor said to wait atleast for 3months to normalize the ovulation process. Request your advice & suggestion.

Hi,

Ovarian cysts can definitely affect ovulation and the subsequent chance of pregnancy.

Since both the ovaries are affected, it is highly recommended to continue the drugs for 3 to 4 cycles to increase the chance of pregnancy.

Any coexisting conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity should also be controlled.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
