Can Decrease In Cholesterol Affect Brain Serotin Uptake?

I want to know about statins causing depression because when I started generic Lipitor My cholesterol dropped from 200 to 169 but I developed depression and an increase in Zoloft hasn t helped. Is the decrease in cholesterol affecting my brain serotin uptake.

Hi i read your query very carefully.

Yes the decrease in cholesterol level interfer in the serotonin uptake and in other neurotransmiters metabolism that may worse some time depresion.

However i recommend to talk with your cardiologist and psychologist for proper treatment of your problem.
