Can Deep Impact On Leg Cause Fracture Of The Bone?

Hi, a few nights ago i stupidly ran into a truck while looking down at my phone whilst messaging. I was running pretty fast and the impact was very strong. anyway, i have a very deep gouge on one of my shins and i was just cleaning it now and saw a dark, what appeared to be, dead skin. I got my tweezers and extracted two little things. apon looking at them, i realized that they look very similar to bone fragment. could it be possible that this impact has cause my shin bone to fracture. thank you
