Can Deep Vein Blood Clots Cause Death?

I have been sick for about a month. I am on Flagyl, using a nebulizer with Albuterol and Bromide, tessalon Perles. All of a sudden I have a massive headache, my legs are hurting and I am very nauseated. I have been literally curled on my couch everyday. Can I hv blood clots and going to die from it?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for your question on HCM! I understand your concern.

Deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs are a dangerous medical situation, which is the main cause of pulmonary embolism. This situation is often caused by staying for a long time in bad or other coagulation disorders.

I recommend you to consult with the angiologist and have a Doppler ultrasound of the lower limb vessels to exclude this disorder.

A pulmonary CT scan with IV contrast may be necessary to check for pulmonary complications.

Hope to have been helpful!

Greetings! Dr. Iliri
