Can Delay In 3 Weeks Of Periods And Sore Throat Symptoms For Pregnancy?

So my last period was the last week before halloween. Making my period now about 3 weeks late now. Within the past few days I've been having backaches and today I have a fever. I've gained a little weight too. But most of those symptoms could be the product of stress. I don't know if this is related but I also have a sore throat. Should I get a test? Or could there be other ways to tell? I'm really broke and don't have the money to buy a test right now but it would be nice to find out.

The sore throat and fever are not related to the delayed period except for the fact that stress in any form can delay a cycle. If you have never had a missed period before, you should definitely test for pregnancy. You can get a home pregnancy test with a fresh early morning sample of urine and plan further management accordingly. Apart from this, it is difficult to predict the presence or absence of pregnancy. The only other crude way is recording of basal body temperature right from day one of the cycle and detecting pregnancy by persistent rise in temperature post ovulation. Hope this helps.
