Can Delay In Periods Be Due To Pregnancy?

Hi, I had ovulation on the 18th of October and a week late had a light spotting. 2 days before ovulation I had intercourse as well as on the day of ovulation. My period is normally 32-33 days, I have not had period as yet. I took 3 home pregnancy tests ans all came back negative. Is there a possibilty I am pregnant or what can be the cause of such delay in period. A bit worried that it might be an ectopic preganancy but then home preganacy test still have to be positive? Appreciate your advice.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Pregnancy should be first considered as the cause for delay in getting periods in sexually active person.
Since you have taken urine pregnancy tests and it is negative, it would be better to get the following investigations done, as it would tell the status if you are pregnant or it would suggest some cause which might have been associated with delay in periods.
1. Serum beta hCG levels.
2. Abdominal ultrasound scan.
Kindly consult Gynecologist with the investigation reports for proper evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
