Can Dermovate Ointment Cause Severe Soreness And Burning In Vaginal Area?

Hi, I have been prescribed dermovate ointment for vulval itching by my consultant. After a week I had severe soreness and burning in the area so I have stopped using the ointment. 5 days later I now have itching and soreness in the whole vaginal area. Why is this? How can I soothe it? And will it just get better now I'm not using dermovate, but will take longer than 5 days?? I'm in a lot of discomfort so your advice would be really appreciated. Thanks.
