Can Diabetes Cause Dry Eyes And Pain In The Knee And Elbow?

My Doctor says that I am pre-diabetic and wants to talk about putting me on some type of meds. Can a blood test tell you that? Whenever I have checked my blood sugar it has been within normal limits even right after eating. I am always hungry, my knees and elbows hurt sometimes, I have been really tired lately and just feel plain sluggish. My eyes have also been bothering me lately more like dry eye.

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hello,

For dry eyes, I will advise you to check with the ophthalmologist so he can assess the eye and the pores which provide the water for the eyes. As this can be done with the special instrument and later an eye drop can be decided.

For pain in elbows and knees, it can be due to the weakness of the muscle and this may have caused the joint inflammation. I will advise to do hot water fermentation and do simple exercises like static triceps, static biceps, static Quadriceps and Static hamstring. This will help improve joint space and reduce inflammation.

For diabetics, I will advise it to monitor and check your FBS, PPBS, RBS and HbA1c. Post this required medicine can be given and the dosage can be planned. Doing diet modification and simple exercises should help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
