Can Discontinuing Pacquina Medicine Cause Fever?

I have been on pacquina for years and have stopped taking it after cutting down slowly over a period of 5 months. The last six weeks I have been running a low grade fever 98.5 - 100.8 starting out only evenings and now day time also . Wondering if going off the pacquina could be the cause of the fevers. I also had lung cancer this past year and doing good right now. My Dr s are aware of the fevers but none have thought about my going off this med. Just wondering if this would be something I should have the Dr check into. Thanks , Cathy

Hello,

Yes, in few patients may develop flu-like symptoms. But in your case slowly wean off is done. so the possibility of you may be got viral flu or infection.

Please check it out for the source of infection by examination and blood investigations.

Take tablet Paracetamol if necessary. I think it is not a good idea to go for the same tablet. Consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
