Can Driving Constantly Cause Trouble To The Unborn?

hi am 22 years old and am 15 days late on my period and just found out that am pregnant about a week ago, i drive a manual mini bus to work and from work to home and while i drive i get tired at times and now i have pain on my left side, could i be harming my baby by driving at this stage? and does that pain i have has any connection to my baby? please help me by answering me ASAP. THANKS A LOT.

Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
You would not be harming your baby by driving.
This is unless the roads are bad, and you have a lot of potholes and jerks while travelling.
Use a seat safety belt always.
Make sure there are no sudden brakes, drive safe and slow.
Yes, early pregnancy is characterized by pain, fatigue and aches.
Also, mild pain is common due to the enlargement of the pregnant uterus.
Please have an ultrasound scan after 6 weeks anytime.
If the cardiac activity of the baby and the growth is fine, then there is no cause for concern.
Also, if you have excruciating pain, cramps, spotting or pressure in the lower abdomen, think of taking a break from work.
Take regular folic acid supplements.
Try and rest a lot after coming home.
Avoid dehydration.
