Can Ear Pain With Swelling, Fever, Neck And Face Swelling Be Treated?

Hi I have severe, SEVERE ear pain. i went to the emergency room as my regular ENT would not see me before Monday. I was in the emergency room Wed. night. i was given antibiotics, topical antibiotics and a numbing solution. When I called my ENT again the next day, still no earlier appointment! The pain is so severe, I have been taking Aleve far more than the bottle instructs. I combine it with Ibuprophin. What can I do to help myself before Monday with the doc s appointment. I feel my doctor should have made room in his schedule to see me. I have been running a fever and cannot chew. I am swollen on my neck and face and around my ear. I have severe pain in the ear. The EM doc said my ear canal was so swollen he could not see the ear drum. All help will be appreciated. Thank you.

hello,
this could be Infection of your external ear with obliteration of external auditory canal.. and secondary lymph node enlargement.. you have to be treated with antibiotics(amox and clavulinic acid), analgesics, the ear can has to be packed with Magnesium sulfate pack to prevent complete obliteration of the canal, if any abscess, it has to be drained and pus can be sent for culture and sensitivity...
get well soon...
