Can Enlarged Tonsil Occur Due To Virus Infection?

Hi, My 6 year old has not been eating (but drinking okay) for three days, no fever, but slight reddened cheeks, denies sore throat, no cough, breathing okay. Her right tonsil is enlarged and has large reddened veins all over it. No drainage or pus is visible.....is this probably just a virus?
Thanks!
