Can Excessive Drinking Cause Severe Nose Bleed With Blood Clots?

My grandma in July went to the hospital because she passed out and was drinking at work so the doctors told her to stop drinking because of here liver. Two days ago she had a serious nose bleed and their was a lot of blood and blood clots on the floor just from her nose and she has a bruise on her back I believe something else happen with her liver. What do you think because she had to go to the hospital that night and my family was not giving the doctors the right information sowe left with nothing but some more pilss to add to her regimen I think its her liver and is it too late to nurse it back to health because she doesn t have the best diet either as a matter of fact earlier this week before the incident she just started nutrisystem which I know has a lot of unnatural preservatives in it.

chronic alcohol use damages liver, which then is not able to produce proteins responsible for normal blood clotting process. Therefore liver damage causes coagulopathy, which predisposes individual for frequent bleeding from nose, intestine, bruises over back and arms, etc that are the presenting complaints. I suggest get prothrombin time test, INR test and liver function test for knowing the clotting protein levels and dysfunction.
