Can Exposure To Mold Cause Congested Throat, Cough With Yellow Mucus And Body Ache?
I was in a home yesterday for 1-1/4 hours that reeked of cat urine. After I got back to the office, I found out that there is also mold in the home. I felt absolutely fine until I was in the home.and then my throat started closing up and I became congested and miserable. I had a terrible night sleeping and now I have chills, my body aches all over, even to the touch and it hurts when I cough, and I cough up a yellow mucous. Could that one-time exposure to mold cause these symptons or is it coincidence? It wasn't their cat or dog, because I have both at home. Thank you.
I went through the history you have provided here. It seems from the history that you are having congested throat, cough with yellow mucus.... These symptoms indicate upper respiratory tract infection. This can occur if you are allergic to mold added with secondary infection. This requires treatment by the use of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs and anti-allergic drugs.
Do consult your doctor for examination to confirm the diagnosis and prescription of drugs.
Hope this is helpful to you. Thank you for writing to us.
