Can Exposure To Temps Below 0 Followed By Burning In The Toes After Warming Them Indicate Raynaud's?
thank you. I got exposed to temps below 0. I thought I got frost nip. My big toes got on fire in the middle of the night after I warmed up. Like I had glass being rubbed into the, they felt on fire. so painful I cried out in pain. No blisters, but a few itchy spots on other toes and swollen with bluish and red areas. No while areas. My PA diagnosed me with Raynaud's. I do not agree and don't want that on my med record.
The symptoms are suggestive of either, frost-bite (more serious than frost-nip); or, a scald burn following use of hot water/dry heat for warming it up.
You need to be on a short course of drugs which dilate the blood vessels of the foot, as well as, those which prevent clot-formation.
Reynaud's is UNLIKELY.
Hence, consult your doctor again and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me, order blood workup if required, and will prescribe suitable/modified treatment as advised.
