Can Eye Drops Be Used For Swelling And Inflammation In The Eyes?

I ve had swelling in one eye, inflammation, and finally retinal detachment. This all started in November 2017. The reattachment was done more recently, but the doctor is still trying to get the swelling down. He prescribed ketorolac drops this week, but I have read the pills are pretty dangerous. No more than five days of them! What about the eye drops???? I am just starting to feel better after the reattachment of the retina!
