Can Feeling Low Be Due To Decreasing Carbimazole Levels In My Body?

I have been off carbimazole for about 10 days and am feeling very low, crying all the time etc. I had the same symptoms about a week after reducing my initial dose 6 months ago but thyroid levels remained stable to external factors were blamed. Could these symptoms be a result of decreasing carbimazole levels in my body?

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!
You are right, your symptoms are suggestive for thyroid hormonal disorder but once the hormonal level is within the normal ranges it is ruled out.
Other probable cases should be other hormonal changes.
You didn't mention your age but if you are at perimenopause or menopause period, the mood changes may be due to it.
Than try to minimize as much as you can the external factors.
If the symptoms persists other causes should be try to find.
Hop the information will help.
Kind regards,
Dr,Mirjtea
