Can Genital Herpes Causing Bloated Stomach, Smelly Urine, Fever, Headaches Be Treated?

Hi, I have had genital Herpes for over twenty five years with three to four outbreaks a year. Now since the last two years the outbreaks have dropped to one or two a year, but once a month I get the symptoms that come before the outbreak and they leave me beat for five to six days everymonth. like bloated stomack, smell in the urine, slight fever, no energy, some headache and very bad mood. what can I do ? my e-mail is YYYY@YYYY

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Happy to know that the frequency of recurrence had come down.
Some of the symptoms like smell in urine and even bloated stomach not appeared to be due to Prodromal symptoms of Herpes.
Anyhow you can take course of suppressive therapy either with Aciclovir or valciclovir in low dose as per your physician's guidance for 6-12 months. That will reduce the frequency of recurrence and prodromes.
