Can Going Of Livalo While Feeling Great Be A Problem For Type 2 Diabetic Patient ?

Mu husband is 69 years old and Type 2 Diabetic for the last 5 years. He has always exercised 5-7 days a week and weight 155 pounds. Our internist recently passed away and we have a new doctor. He has tried numerous statin drugs to lower his HDL and every prescription turns him into a cripple. His back muscles hurt terribly and this makes it hard for him to exercise. He was taking LIVALO every other night and doing fine and the dr. increased the dose to every night and there went his back!! He has been off of LIVALO for 6 weeks and feels great and does not want to go on any other statin. What can he do? Thank you

Hi,Welcome to Health care magic forum.
It appears that the back muscles of your husband are aching, if statins are taken.it may be due to the gastric irritation of the drug.
I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment.
i usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms,omeprazole,domperidone, and anaesthetic antacid gel.
Avoid taking potato,other tubers, tomato,egg, chicken,and sea foods,till the pains are completely cleared.
