Can Having Unprotected Sex 8 Days After Getting Nexplanon Implanted Cause Pregnancy?

Hi well my name is awilda capellan and I just had my nexplanon implanted on February 6 my last period was January 15 and ended the 19 my doctor told me to wait for a couple a weeks to have unprotected sex because my last period was last month but me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex for the first time February 14, 8 days after getting my nexplanon implanted. could I be pregnant?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Though chances are less but still technically your hormone levels were not at a level that can offer you complete protection. Please get home pregnancy test done 15 days after unprotected sex and always try your best to follow instructions given by your doctor.
