Can Having Unprotected Sex Followed By Intake Of A Pill Cause Pregnancy?

Hi, I recently had unprotected anal sex with my boyfriend (on the 9th) and he accidentally went into my vagina for 3 seconds max. 20 mins later he ejaculated and some of the semen landed in my pants and on my pelvis. The day after I took a morning after pill and ever since then I have been more irritable and emotional, i have been feeling a bit nauseated and i missed my period. Its my understanding that pre ejaculatory fluid does not contain any sperm so how likely is it that i am actually pregnant? (I will also be seeing my doctor on Wednesday for a followup pregnancy test)

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Pre-ejaculatory fluid does contain sperms and are capable of causing pregnancy. But the chances are very less.
But, you have done the right thing by taking morning after pill the next day after the incident.
Hence, you need not be irritable and emotional for having done that as you have taken precaution.
Morning after pill would prevent pregnancy by causing breakthrough bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of taking the pill.
So, even if you have not got your periods in time, not to be worried until 3 weeks for bleeding to happen.
In case it doesn't happen, you need to seek medical attention without any further delay.
So relax for now and wait until you get your periods.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
