My mother has been battling with bad headaches that sometimes feels like her whole head is going to explode. She has had several cat scans with and without contrast and doctors can t find anything. Medications aren t working. We don t know what else to do. We know she has difficulty hearing could that be causing the headache?

Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like peripheral nerve compression , diabetic nerve damage ,raised blood pressure, migranes, age related hearing loss , ear infection and guillain-Barre syndrome . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist as well as neurologist .
Doctor may order CT scan or braine or MRi to confirm the diagnosis . ENT specialist can also order hearing test and diagnosis with otoscope and treat accordingly. For now start taking supplement like ginkgo biloba and ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Hope your concern has been resolved.
