Can Hearing Loss Be Reversed?

sir, i am hearing impaired and doctors are sayng that due to discharge from ear during childhood you ear nerves has become week therfore the damamge can not be reversed. now I am 28 yrs old. Ear discharge happened at the age of 10-11 but my hearing loss started at the age of 17-18. Now it is continuously increasing. I am under treatment since last 10 yeras and now loosing hope to recover.kindly advise me- 1. Can this lncreasing loss can be stopped? 2. Can hearing loss be reversed? 3. I am unmarried. In future, is there any possibility that my child will also suffer from hearing loss?

Noted your detailed history.
To answer your queries:
1) Can hearing loss can be stopped Surely, yes.
For this you need to consult a Neuro-otologist who will evaluate you, get the detailed hearing evaluation of ear, middle and inner ear, the nerves and even the brain level.
This will need special hearing tests, MRI of the brain the nerves and the mastoids.
Once hte cause is found then it is easy to have an appropriate and specific treatment.
Now-a-days cochlear implants can improve the hearing a lot in selected cases.
2) can hearing loss be reversed? Yes as just explained above.
3) Child can suffer from the loss only if your disease is hereditary, if not do not worry.
