Can Heavy Period Cause Pain Around The Rib Cage Area?

Hi. I just wanted to know if during a heavy period can you get pain around the rib cage area? Because started the day before i started my period and its still doing it today. I have no idea if this is something to worry about? At first i thought maybe it was a panic attack but i don't think it is. Can you please help?
