Can Herpes Cause Blisters?

can herpes 2 breakout around mouth face and buttocks cheeks, including back of thighs? i have seen and felt blisters that first start out with pain in the area then a red spot then a cluster of hard blisters. My friend has been given axcyclovir 800 mg. How long does it take to dry up? She/He picks and pops. Thank you.

Thank you for query.the lesions may be due to herpes zoster as the dose given is high .herpes simplex 1 and 2 both can occur around oral and genital areas.herpes zoster occurs along dermatome(nerve distirbution). if recurrent then it is likely to be herpes simplex than zoster.
