Can High ALT Levels In An Overweight Individual Refer To Liver Damage?
I just got my lab work results. I don't have a lipid result but my triclycerides are always high. (I am overweight). verything came back normal except my ALT is 64. I am concerned as what I read on the internet talks about liver damage, but could the high ALT be related to the triclycerides level?
Hi I read carefully all your concerns and I understood your query. With regards to high level of ALT it may be related with HIGH triglycerides. High triglycerides may cause fatty liver and high liver panel. you need to be examined with abdominal ultrasound to diagnose fatty liver. The first step of treatment is to change your lifestyle like avoid fatty foods, sweeteners, increase your physical activity, use plenty of water. wishing you fast recovery Dr.Klerida
