Can High Altitudes Elevate The Pain Caused Due To Ovarian Cyst?

Can high altitude cause an increase of ovarian cyst pain symptoms? I went for a hike at 12,000 feet and noticed an increase in pain on my right side; I have had pain for a few months and a small cyst was found on my right ovary at my last appointment.

Hi,

High altitude may not have any direct relationship with ovarian cyst. Generally very small cysts does not cause any symptoms and may not require any treatment. Extreme fatigue, dehydration and muscle pain may be the cause of your symptoms. Adequate rest and re-hydration will reduce the discomfort.

Abdominal/Pelvic ultrasound can be done to rule out any abnormalities and reduce any anxiety. Kindly check your serum electrolytes, blood sugar and blood pressure.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
