Can High Risk HPV Be Transmitted From Other Women?

My last pap came back abnormal and went today for a colposcopy. For 28 years i was in a monogamous relationship. The past 2 years i have been having unprotected sex with a person I am pretty sure is sleeping with others.(stupid i know). My question is if my HPV comes back positive for high risk as that is what is being tested for and not warts and the doctor says "if i have it he has it" or i am pretty sure vise versa can high risk HPV be transmitted to other women and from other women? What are the chances it came from him?
