Can Hydrocephalus Cause Auditory Hallucinations, Paranoia Or Schizophrenia?

I have a friend with hydroencephalus. She has a shunt. She seems to be having either auditory hallucinations or paranoia, or schizophrenia. When we all get together, she sometimes think she heard one of us (friends) say something negative to her or about her when we have not.
