Can Hydrocodone And Chlorpheniramine Have A Muscle Relaxant Affect Reducing Spasms?

•     Can HYDROCODONE-CHLORPHENIRAM used as a cough medicine, also have a slight muscle relaxant effect? My daughter has had muscle spasms on the right side of her face, jaw and tongue since she was four years of age, now 23 and has been treated with Zonegran and Topamax and now Trokendi (slow release Topiramate). While on the above cough medicine she went 8 days w/o a spasm. Normal, with meds, to have at least 1-3 a day. I thought this was a general chat. Never mind.

You are right. In order to satisfy your appropriate curiosity and mark your correct observation, I want to state that the ingredients of cough syrup (hydrocodone) have a muscle relaxant property.
They act on opioid receptors in the body and are known to cause warm pleasant relaxing sensations along with skeletal muscle relaxation. But prolonged use of this in heavy doses is not recommended as it could later lead to a problematic withdrawal and symptoms like body ache, tremors or diarrhea. Thanks for the question.
