Can I Have Increased Dosage Of Venlafaxine Daily For Depression?
I have been taking venlafaxine for 2 months at 75mg and asked last week to have the dose increased. I saw the prescription was written for 100mg but I was given tablets that appear to be 100mg (not the extended release) and instructed to take 1 tablet 3x daily. Everyone seems confused that I m confused about increasing the dose from 75mg to 300mg daily. Am I missing something?

I think, your doctor have mistakenly mentioned 100 mg thrice a day. Venlafaxine is available in 75 mg capsule and dose increment is in by 75 mg per week i.e. 150mg, 225 mg and 300 mg/day. Better to discuss about the dose excalation. If you take venlafaxine in such a high dose in short span, it could lead to side effects. In case, you need further help, you can ask.
