Can I Take Primolut N During Pregnancy?

HI. i am pregnent and the doctor (who is aware im pregnent) has prescribed me to take one 5mg primolut N once a day. this is because i was bleeding (very light though).it clearly says in the leaflet not to. Is my physician wrong to prescribe me the medicine? will it have any negative effect on the baby? kindly advice as im really worried.

Dear Mumma,

The fact that you bled in the first few weeks of pregnancy suggests that there is problem in stabilizing the pregnancy due to Progesterone deficiency. Hormone Progesterone, as its name suggests helps the stabilization of pregnancy. Considering that you have Progesterone deficiency, your doctor had prescribed you Primolut N pills. These pills are Progesterone pills. It will not cause any harm to your baby, in fact it will help stabilize the pregnancy. So please follow your doctor's advice.
