Hi,

Gestone injection contains progesterone. Progesterone is the hormone that helps in the maintenance of pregnancy. So usually this is prescribed during the second half of the menstrual cycle to help with implantation of a zygote and with maintenance of pregnancy. So maybe because of that your doctor might have prescribed during the second half of your menstrual cycle after ICSI.

Usually till you use the progesterone supplements you will not get the menstruation. Because progestin will act on the uterine endometrium and prevents its shedding. If you get menstruation while using the injection no need to continue that according to the literature. So please discuss these things and about the dosage of the injection with your doctor and proceed accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
