Can I Take 'microgynon30' Along With 'mesalazine' For Ulcerative Colitis?

hi i am a 22 year old female and have recently been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. i have been taking the contraceptive pill (microgynon30) for 5 years. i have heard that it increases my chances of blood clots. so is it ok to carry on using my pill while using my treatment for UC. i am currently using mesalazine 250mg suppositories. i am using 3 a day.

Hello,

You can safely continue microgynon along with mesalazine. Microgynon will not interact with Mesalazine or aggrevate ulcerative colitis.
