Can I Take Penicillin Tabs As A First Aid For Worsening Tonsillitis?

Hi
I have viral tonsillitis and nhs 24hr didn't give me any penicillan as was just virus but told me it could develop into tonsillitis.its getting worse now but can't get an appointment at my doctors for few days.
My mum has penicillan v tablets for tonsillitis which are only months old.
Could I take these in meantime as symptoms are getting un bearable
Till my appointment comes up.

Hello

I would like you to avoid self medications!
Please check the expiry date on the pennicillin and if you dont have any allergy to penicillins before, i think you can start it!
I would like you to meet your doctor as soon as you can and also start warm salt water gargles 3-4 times a day!
