I have been taking Doxycycline Hyclate on and off for about 2 years. I ve been off for about 6- 7 months now. I started taking Whey protein shakes, which is causing significant acne on my face and back. Will taking Doxy again reduce or cancel out the affects of the acne-causing Whey?
I can understand your concern for acne flare up after taking whey proteins.
I can make out form your query that you have consumed various food supplements which actually contains anabolic steroids in it which can cause flare ups because of its steroid nature of content inside.
I suggest you to immediate stop your whey proteins as can cause other side effects along with pimples. Do not scratch or pinch the pimples as it can lead to further aggravation.
IN my patients I suggest them to apply clindamycin gel and take tabet azithromycin or doxycycline as per the required dose.
Despite above measures if the acne problem is not getting better then it is better to consult a dermatologist for best guidance.
All the best.
