Can Intake Of Amantadine Or Ropinirole Cause Urine Incontinence?

I m working with a 65 year old male with Parkinson s. Meds include Lev/carbidopa 50/200mg. 6x/day, comtan 200mg.6x/day ,Ropinirole 5 mg/day, Amantadine 100mg 3x/day, Trazadone 100mg. @ HS, Sertraline 150mg once/day, Clonazepam 3.5 mg/day. Also has shortterm memory loss due to parkinsons and fairly big anxiety issues . meds have helped. . No hallucinations. Recently have night sweats occasional incontinence Interrupting sleep, soaking bed. Occasional incontinence. Wonder if could be from Amantadine or more Ropinerole? See neurologist tomorrow.

Thank you for contacting HCM. your patient is taking a lot of medications. It is really challenging to take care of these patients.

amantadine and ropinirole may not cause urinary incontinence. Carbidopa/levodopa has a tendency to increase UTI occurrence. He is at risk to get urinary tract infections in any way. fasting I would do is check for any urinary tract infections. As you are going to see the neurologist he will certainly give more information.
