Can Intake Of Cerazette Cause Watery, Pink Bleeding During Periods?

Hi Doctor, I am 18 years old and have been taking the combined pill Levest for 6 months, after experiencing some problems i chose to swap my pill to Cerazette. Before starting this new pill i took a month off to see if any of the issues cleared up. I have been having protected sex with my Boyfriend this month except once but he did not finish inside me. i began my period today and so began taking the new pill. However my period is a lot waterier and is more pink/pale red than the deep red/brown that it used to be... is this normal? could the pill have caused this or could there be another reason?

Hi,

It is normal to have this kind of bleeding while using Cerazette. You can continue the pill as you were planning to, unless you are much bothered with this symptom or experience some other side effect.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
