Hi my name is pat I am 65 years old I have been taking diovan hct for a few years I am on a healthy diet of organic foods and I have extreme stiffness in my joints and I notice I take my med at 7 am and by 8 am it starts to get really hard to walk by 6 pm it seems to let up I am finally realizing it has to be these med

Hello Pat. Noted the contents. You are right. You correlation is possible. Between 2004 and 2012 the FDA has received about 250 reports of joint stiffness that is associated with valsartan. I would suggest you discuss this with your physician and switch to another class of medication unless this class (ARB) was given due to renal problems. Do you have stiffness only in the lower limbs or also in the upper limbs? What was your last uric acid reports like? Its unlikely due to hyperuricemia but was just curious since you are also on hydrochlorothiazide. Hope the answer helped. Wishing you health. take care.
