Can Intake Of Nordette Help In Delaying Menstrual Periods?

Hello Doctors! I just wanted to ask. I took nordette as an ecp last week after a deed. However, I only took 2 pills at the start because I asked helped from a friend and that s what she told me to do.. after, I searched the internet and it said to take 4 pills and after 12hrs, another 4 pills. So after 12 hrs, I took 4 pills again. I took a total of 6 pills.. because after the last 4 pills I took, my system wasn t able to handle it and I vomitted. I was past my ovulation period when the deed happened and my period was due yesterday but until now, i still don t have it. Can nordette delay your period? It s been a week since I ve taken nordette.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Slight menstrual irregularities including delayed periods can happen with hormonal pills including Nordette.

Generally, it will settle by itself. If persists you can consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
