Can Intercourse On The 7th Day Of Periods Leads To Pregnancy?

hi. I just had sex with my partner and we didnt use condom. Only withrawal. This is the the 7th day after the last day of my menstruation. Is there a possibility for me to get pregnant? Should i take the emergency pill (nordette)?

Hi,
If you have regular 28-30 day cycles, you are in the safe period and as such, need not worry about conception. If, you have shorter cycles, then, you are at risk. Ovulation occurs about two weeks prior to the onset of the next period and this is the period when the chances of conception through unprotected intercourse are very high. You should wait for your next normal period to ensue, and if you miss it, go for a HPT 3-7 days later with a fresh early morning sample. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
