Hi,
In case your hemoglobin is not stable in spite of taking iron pills for 6 months, you should proceed to investigations to diagnose cause of anemia.( Hb% along with typing of anemia , investigations to exclude hemoglobinopathies, stool examination to exclude/diagnose worm infestations), thyroid function test are few of them.
- Please consult a hematologist along with the reports. Treatment of cause helps improvement in Hb% .
- A well balanced nutritious food with proteins, iron, vitamins( specially B,C, B12) need to be consumed.
- Plenty of green vegetables, & all the edibles that are dark colored provide you iron.
-sprouts,pulses,milk eggs provide proteins,
- Non vegetarian food has sufficient vitamin B12,If you are vegetarian, oral pills of B12 need to be supplemented.
-Folic acid is available from- sprouts, cabbage, beat root, spinach, soya bean, fishes, milk, oranges.
- Vitamin C /selenium helps blood formation . It's available from all sour ( lemon group of fruits)fruits.
I hope this helps you.
Thanks.
