Can Irregular Periods Cause Infertility?

Hello Doctor I'm 18 years young an I have been irregular on me last time I had my period last month and that was the only time in the year 2010. Is this normal? What can I do to get my period every month? Does this mean that I will not be able to have childre? And by the way my period lasted 5 days last month
