Can Itchy Rashes On Breast Cause Cancer?

I had a mammogram done in march of this year. today I went for my well woman check up and showed my Dr. a small rash on my breast close to the nipple and told him of the itching I have with it. It is circular in size and has grown from 1/2 from March to 1 . It itches and my breast feels hot at times. It is sore if I rub up against something also. He wants me to have another mammogram and ultrasound on it. I am awaiting my appointment date and am concerned that it may be cancer.

welcome to Health care magic.
1.Your history suggest as its an inflammatory breast disease with sore breast, discomfort on touch.
2.Yes there is no other way to go a head, you have to get an ultrasound done.
3.It will give the nature of the lesion, its extensions and where it is arising from.
4.Some lesions and micro calcifications in the breast can be missed in the ultrasound so your mammogram will help in that case.
5.So, get an appointment and get the needful investigations / treatment done.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
