I had an IUD inserted 7 months ago and I am still having very heavy and long periods. I have also started to have very severe pain in both my arms, from the shoulder down to the fingers. the pain started around a month and a half a go and has been getting worse. I am thinking of getting the IUD removed, could the pain be related to it?
Very localised and severe pain in the arms must be investigated to rule out other causes.
Soft tissue swelling or muscle sprain should be ruled out. Nerve pain can be one of the causes.Diabetes, nutritional deficiency and other causes of peripheral neuropathy should be ruled out.
