Can Kidney Stone Surgery Cause Lower Body Paralysis, Especially After Receiving An Injection During The Procedure?

Please I wish to find out if a kidney stone surgery can cause paralysis of the lower body? My aunt had a kidney stone surgery and she said she was administered an injection on her back during that procedure. And now she is unable to walk as her waist down is paralysed. What could be the problem as I never knew that those 2 organs were related.
