Can Laproscopic Hysterectomy Be The Cause Of Intense Pain? Can It Be A Symptom Of Infection Or Cystic Ovaries?

I am 18 days post op. I began to have severe pain and went to see my Dr yesterday . On manual exam she said I had an infection. I had blood work done, and today an ultrasound. She was relived it doesn't look as bad as she thought yesterday. she did note I have a cyst on my ovary as well. I had a laproscopic supercervical hysterectomy, she also removed my tubes. I am in a lot of pain if I do too much, so she has me taking it back to activity level of weeks 1-2. should I be concerned about this? my ultrasound took a very long time. My surgery was 11/18/13. It is my 3rd abdominal prodcedure and I wonder/worry about adhesions. if I had any, would she have seen them and said something? (appendectomy 27 yrs ago, laproscopic myomectomy (fibroids) 11 yrs ago, the 3rd is my LSH. should I be concerned about the infection, or the pain or the cyst? thank you

Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Pain is very non specific symptom especially that you have not given its location. So it is hard to give accurate answer.
Infection should be diagnosed with blood work (WBC and CRP should be elevated). Any fluid collection in the abdominal cavity would be visible in the ultrasound.
Adhesions can not be visible in either ultrasound or CT. Adhesions can be present after 3 surgeries. From adhesion you would get crampings, bloating, diarrhea and constipation alternately.
Cyst rather does not give pain if not ruptured.
